Immigration Information and Counselling Services (IIC)
The IIC program is a confidential service offering immigration information, support and counselling. IOM provides counselling, case management, return assistance and reintegration planning to the migrants in Australia who are eligible for IIC support.
We support your rights to:
- Independent, impartial services and information
- Make your own choices based on comprehensive up-to-date information
- Be respected and helped in making decisions for yourself
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure your consent is attained with regard to all personal information exchanged
Choosing to go back or not to go back to your country of origin is a major decision. Sometimes you think that the decision to stay or return has been taken out of your hands. IOM promotes humane and voluntary objectives on migration principles. Our IIC caseworkers provide impartial immigration information, support and migration counselling to assist you explore the options you identify as best for you and your family.
IIC caseworkers can assist you in terms of making choices by providing you with the following:
- Support to make a well informed decision which meets your identified needs
- Information on the migration process
- Immigration information and counselling to assist you in the decision making process
- Up to date information on your country of origin
- Identifying individual needs and considerations when developing an immigration outcome
- Assistance with dignified and orderly return and reintegration.
N.B. IOM and IIC programme do not take part in any involuntary or forced repatriation.
